Christmas

For Christmas this year, we flew from Salt Lake to Seattle, where we got to spend the holiday with both of our families. We were only there for 4 days, but they were all great and I loved seeing everyone.

Little Happenings

Today's lunch menu: MACARONI AND CHEESE!

What an adorable mess!

Landon was playing around in the dining room, and he somehow got stuck in this chair! haha He cried for just a second and then noticed one of the bars was just his height!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We were trying to get a decent picture of Landon in front of the tree. Didn't happen.

We did our presents early this year since we're going to be in Washington for Christmas. Here is Landon with the presents we gave him. He loves them!

Landon.

Pillsbury Dough Boy for Halloween

I just love this boy. He is so sweet and loving, yet he is ALL boy! He loves eating, getting dirty, cars/trucks, and spitting. Since my Facebook kicks me off every 30 seconds (does anyone know how I can fix this??), I don't have time to post pictures, so here are some of my favorites from the past couple months.

Lately.

It has been way too long since I posted last, sorry.

HAIRCUT:
About a month ago, Mike and I decided it was time for Landon's first haircut :( I was heartbroken, but it needed a trim badly. He was very good. We just sat him in the bathroom sink and let him play with the things around it.

Before- look how long the back was! Gross.

After- such a handsome little man.

HALLOWEEN:
We had so much fun this Halloween! It was Landon's first time trick-or-treating, and he enjoyed picking candy out of bowls. For our costumes, we went with Landon being the Pillsbury Dough Boy, and Mike and I were the bakers who made him.

He thought this was the best night ever! After trick-or-treating, he was super hyper for about 15 minutes, then he crashed for the night.

My little family.

RANDOM PICTURES:
I have a lot to pick from, but I chose only 2.

My little pumpkin

I love fall. Everything about it is beautiful. Golden, crispy leaves, rainy days, pumpkin patches, straw/corn mazes, Halloween, Thanksgiving, pumpkin pies, hot chocolate, boots and scarves, MY BIRTHDAY, crisp air. I could go on and on. This is my favorite season. A couple weeks ago I went to a pumpkin patch with my little family and we picked out a huge pumpkin just for Landon to sit in :) We did have fun looking at all the different pumpkins and seeing Landon with a little baby pumpkin.

That same day, we went to a straw maze that was only about 10 minutes away from home. Last year it was only me and Mike and it took us about an hour, maybe 2 (I forgot). This year we had Landon with us and we made it through the maze in 30 minutes! After we got out, the workers there challenged us to go through the exit and come out the entrance, and we did that in only 10 minutes! Landon must be lucky :)

On Saturday after Mike got off work we quickly hollowed out the huge pumpkin before it started to get cold and sat Landon in it. We must seem like horrible parents, putting our baby in a pumpkin and keeping him in there until we got a decent picture. But he really didn't mind it! Sure he was confused at first, (because how often does he sit in a pumpkin?) but Mike was able to get some smiles out of him. We got a few cute pictures, and into the tub went Landon.

Swiss Miss Gone Wrong

Last night my dear husband was craving chocolate milk. I told him that sadly, we don't have anything to make our milk chocolaty. He suggested that we do have Swiss Miss, which is like chocolate milk mix, so he'll give that a go. I chuckled at his cute suggestion saying it's probably not going to be very good because it's meant for HOT chocolate, not cold chocolate milk. But on he went. I was busy editing pictures from the latest photo shoot (check out my photography at www.michellegooldphotography.blogspot.com) and not worrying about my cute husband. All of a sudden, I hear a "IT'S GOING OVER THE EDGE!!!" coming from the kitchen. I looked up from the computer to see this:

Mike had added either too much milk or too much Swiss Miss powder, and as he was trying to mix it together it was overflowing in the cup. Now, this isn't where the title of this blog comes into play. As Mike was mixing the powder and milk together, he discovered something. It wasn't mixing! There was just a clump of powder on top of the cup and it wasn't blending with the milk. I had to laugh at this for a long time. Poor Mike was just trying to get his chocolate craving fix, and instead he got this:

If you look closely, you can see a layer of chocolate that isn't mixed in on the top of the cup. GROSS!

and this:

Mike was pretty upset, but he just scraped off the top chunks of chocolate into the sink and drank the rest of his chocolate milk. He said it tasted pretty good and offered me a sip. I gotta say, it wasn't horrible. Imagine putting a mug of hot chocolate in the fridge for a couple hours, and that's kinda what it tasted like. But! Lesson learned: Swiss Miss is NOT meant to be added in cold milk for chocolate milk :)
