A lovely night out to dinner? HA!

Yesterday was a crazy day. Mike had to work from 8-4:30, and the boys decided to start the day at 6 :( Tucker has a really bad cold, where he just can't stop coughing his little lungs out, poor guy. And Landon is in the stage where he is constantly "needing" things from me, and is starting to be scared of everything. Needless to say, both kiddos were very cranky and it was a very long, hard day for me.

On the menu for that night was a very delicious meal, but it would have taken about 45 minutes just to prepare. I didn't have the energy to make it, so when Mike came home I suggested that we go out to dinner. He agreed, but then came the hard part of deciding where to go. I suggested The Hickory, a yummy barbecue place, but Mike didn't really feel like it. We remembered that we have a Super Saver card with some great deals, so we checked that out. It came down to Big Jud's or Da Pineapple Grill. Delicious burgers and fries, or some tasty Hawaiian food. We ended up choosing Da Pineapple Grill, so off we went.

When we got there, there was only one other family eating there, so I thought we would get our food pretty quickly. The hostess sat us, and we peered at the menus. I chose some a kalua pork platter, and Mike picked some kind of teriyaki burger. I told the waitress what I wanted and she told me they're having a pork shortage, so I'd have to choose something else. Seriously?? Since we'd never been here before, I had to look at the menu again to choose something else, so I asked her if she could come back in like 3 minutes. 10 minutes later, she comes back and I order a teriyaki chicken burger.

After ordering, the waitress brought us our drinks-I got a diet coke, and Mike got a strawberry lemonade slushie. At this point, Landon had gone from the seat next to me, to the high chair, and was now wandering around. Tucker was entertained for a little while looking at the menu and his toys. We got Landon to come back and color on his menu, which he did for about 1 1/2 minutes. Then Tucker got fussy so Mike handed him to me to feed him his bottle. He guzzled it down, burped, and was content.

Landon then told us he was all done eating (we hadn't even gotten our food yet) and wanted to leave. We told him we would be getting our food soon, and to sit down (He climbed out of the seat and was wandering again). This time he chose to sit next to his daddy, and have some of his drink. The slushie was almost gone because by that point we'd been waiting about 20 minutes. The waitress brought another round of drinks out, thank goodness for free refills, and Landon was finishing off the first slushie when he decided to dump out the crayons in the cup they came in, and pour the rest of the slushie in it. Terrific.

Mike was holding Tucker again, but he handed him over to me so he could clean up the slushie mess. As soon as I got Tucker, he spit up ALL over my lap! I quickly gave him back to his daddy and got the rag to clean my lap. The rag was so soaked! Mike handed him back to me, and we were okay playing with a few toys. More time passed, and we still didn't get our food. The boys were so loud at this point! Landon was mad because he just wanted to go, and Tucker had his cold so he was coughing and just plain fussy. Oh, and he spit up all over my lap, for a second time.

I told Mike that we needed to get our food to go so we can get out of here. More people had come, and our loud boys were turning heads. When we finally got our food (about 45 minutes later!!!), I asked her if we could get them to go, so she went and got boxes. She brought them back out, but forgot that we had ordered some free ice cream that came with the deal from the Super Saver card. So back to the kitchen she went! Mike finally took the boys outside, and I was still there waiting. I paid the bill, and left the restaurant. On our way out, we saw some friends coming in, and they asked how our food was. I replied "I don't know yet!" We were all ready to just go home and eat!

We got the boys home where Landon could run around and Tucker could just do his thing. I opened the boxes to find 2 hamburgers and fries. Didn't I order a chicken burger? Who cares, I'll eat it anyway. Turns out the food is AMAZING! Oh my goodness, that was the best burger I've  had in a long time! I don't know if we'll be taking the kids next time, but there will definitely be a next time. And hopefully there will not be a pork shortage. What even is that?
